About Pretzel
| Pretzel's background includes
gymnastics competition in Eastern Europe from the age
of 6, extensive Jazz and Ballet dance training, and Yoga
since 1981. Pretzel was the director of the Yoga
College of India (Bikram) in San Francisco for three
years before moving overseas, where she performed her
Yoga/Contortion act in Southern France, Italy, and
Switzerland for more than five years. After roaming the
Old World to her heart's content, Pretzel realized that
the time had come to share her life experiences and
learning. She returned to San Francisco (because
it's the best city ever!) and decided to open her own
Yoga studio in 1996. Since then, she
has striven to help her students become as
enthusiastic in their own Yoga journeys
as she has been in hers. Recently, continuing her ongoing studies in the pursuit of physical well-being,
Pretzel took up the practice of Pilates.

It was in early
2003, while working out on a reformer, that Pretzel had
a sudden inspiration: she could help even more
people master their bodies and broaden their horizons by
teaching Pilates in her Yoga studio! What's more,
the addition of Pilates to the curriculum would allow
her to reach out to the injured and elderly, and to
provide a new and healing service to her already loyal
students. It is with great joy that Pretzel has
added Pilates classes to the schedule for 2004--and she
hopes everyone will give it a try! |
| When not teaching or
practicing, Pretzel likes to
go for long walks on Treasure Island, play tennis with her dog Xena (a beautiful black lab), and ride her bicycle while Xena
trots beside her. Pretzel loves farmers' markets, foreign films, fresh
flowers, great literature, Italian food, and
watching airplanes take off at SFO. Her favorite
color is turquoise, because she's an island girl and
always carries the ocean in her heart. |
