Pretzel's Yoga & Pilates is an instructional institution dedicated to the study of Yoga and Pilates. In 1996 the school was established in Potrero Hill, and in the years since it has become part of the fabric of this neighborhood community. Please visit our beautiful studio! The space is warm and welcoming, and sunlight streams down from overhead skylights. Parking is plentiful, classes are heated, and the teachers are friendly and experienced.

Pretzel has been practicing Yoga for twenty-five years. Her instructional style is Vinyasa Flow, with an emphasis on strength, flexibility, and the breath. Every class is fresh, and each of the instructors at Pretzel’s Yoga & Pilates provides an uplifting energy and style all their own. Students are encouraged to take their yoga practice beyond the confines of the mat (or even the studio), out into their lives—to spread the light and joy that comes from practicing yoga.

Teacher Training Workshop

Take your yoga practice to the next level with our Teacher Training program, a 200 hour course certified by the international Yoga Alliance. Now you can experience the richness of Pretzel's Yoga Teacher Certification course!

We call the program 8 Weekends/7 Chakras. It covers breathing techniques, anatomy, mythology, philosophy, asanas, mantras, and mudras. The curriculum is based on an exploration of the Chakras to facilitate study: two days of in-depth exploration are dedicated to each Chakra. The course is intensive and immersive, lasting for fourteen days, from 8 am to 6 pm. The resultant certificate is recognized throughout the world and will entitle you to teach yoga anywhere.

Yoga classes are an hour and fifteen minutes long; Pilates classes are an hour. All of our classes are appropriate for beginner, intermediate, and advanced practitioners. Private lessons are available.


A few tips:  eating lightly four hours prior to class makes for a roomier workout. Bring a towel and wear something comfortable. Plan to arrive a few minutes early. Commit yourself to a regular exercise regimen. And have fun!
